When I heard that there was an eyeliner as good as the brand name liners available at the drug store, I knew i had to see for myself. I went out to CVS and found the Maybelline master drama eyeliner. It comes in 6 different colors. I was intrigued by the other colors like the Vibrant Violet and the sapphire strength but i tend to always use black, so I bought the black which is called Midnight master.
This eyeliner needs no sharpener, simply twist and apply.
The first thing i did was compare it to my current favorite black eyeliner, the Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Zero. On my had i swatched both of them side by side to see if there was a color difference. The master drama was a little lighter and had a little but of a gray tone. I found it to be more of a charcoal black then a true black. The next thing i wanted to test was if it would smudge. It didn't smudge as my much as the UD eyeliner but this good be a good thing. I guess it all depends on what look you want to go for. If you want to create a nice smoky eye then i wouldn't use this eyeliner, this would be used for more of a precise application. (master drama is on the left and UD zero on right)
Now for the true test, i applied it to my waterline and wore it out for the day. It went on very smooth and had zero drag. It feels like a kohl but is very creamy . I found that at the end of the day, the liner was still pretty in tacked, it didn't move or smudge like i thought it would. i do have to say i did have to reapply more then i would with my UD eyeliner. The intenseity of the master drama liner fades a little more then i would like. But over all, I am really impressed by this drug store liner. For the price you can just throw it in your bag for touch ups and not worry about loosing it. I would defiantly buy this liner again and going to try the other colors in the collection.
