About Michell

My name is Michell Lauder and I'm a makeup geek and proud of it! 

I have always been fascinated with the art of makeup even as a young girl. It wasn't until I was in high school that I became interested in makeup and began experimenting with eyeliners and mascara. I was given the opportunity to attend a career center that offered a class for cosmetology. Since this class filled up quickly, I was offered an alternative to join culinary arts instead.

While focusing my attention on wedding cakes I happened to meet a bride who loved how I applied my makeup. She asked if I would be willing to be her makeup artist for her big day. I was flattered by this and this is where my addiction began. 

Whenever I had free time I would read and watch YouTube videos of the current makeup trends and new product reviews. I started to experiment with colors and identify which products worked best for different skin types. I started receiving multiple referrals from brides I previously worked on and found that I enjoyed what I was doing. I therefore decided that I wanted to obtain some professional training.

In February 2011, I went to Los Angels to study media makeup at Award Studios. There we learned the theory of makeup and how to apply it for photo shoots,T.V; weddings, fashion, airbrushing and special FX makeup. This class opened my eyes to all the possibilities of makeup and I can't wait to see where this newly found passion will take me.
