Julie G is one of my favorite Youtube gurus. When she announce she was going to come out with her own nail polish collection with Jessie's Girl, i knew i was going to have to run to my local Rite Aid and check the collection out for myself. After Julie G showed the whole collection on her youtube channel , i was just planning on buying a few polish. Once i saw the collection for myself i decided to get the whole collection. I just felt that i liked her Youtube channel so much that she wouldn't disappoint and i was right. In her collection she has a total of 8 nail polishes for $3.99 each.
(Right to left) Mermaid's lagoon, Party Dress, All things girly, cupcake frosting, Girls night out, Fashion Friday, Stiletto, and Beauty Guru.
At first i wasn't sure of the formula for these polishes. When i open the bottle, the polish look thick but once i applied it on my nail it went on smooth. It only took two coats for the polish to become opaque. The colors come out true, just like the color of the bottles. I wouldn't normally wear all the colors in the collection but they all look great on. I'm glad i bought the whole collection because it made me try colors i would normally not be drawn to. They seem like all around good nail polishes.

Halloween looks (skinless/zombie/demoness)
Since Halloween is coming up i have been inspired to create some looks for Halloween. The first look i did was a skinless eye look. Then I also did a zombie and a demoness look. I wanted to create looks where people didn't have to go out and by a costume set. These can really get expensive and only get used once. With these looks I did purchase contacts which can get a little spendy but i bought a set that i could use for more then one look. I already had wigs and woochies (easy-to-use latex appliances) from previous Halloween costumes.
For the first look, skinless eye look, I used only liquid Latex and scar wax. These can be purchase at any Halloween store. Both are pretty inexpensive. The first thing i did was put on one contact which was a misty gray color. I thought that this just added to the look of my eye being skinless. I took wax and added texture around one of my eyes. I then coated the wax with latex and then once the latex dried i pulled some of the latex off to make it look like the skin was pulled off. Once i got the look i wanted, i covered the area with foundation. After i got the area covered well, I set it with some translucent powder. To create more dimension, I took a black eye shadow and went around the eye. After this i took some blood gel and colored in the circle. To create a fresh looking wound i took FX blood and just coated the area where i put the blood gel.

For my next look I did a Zombie. I really wanted to do a zombie look because i am such a big fan of walking dead. I cant wait for that show to come back on and in the mean time i thought it would be fun to make myself into a zombie. I do have to say that this look was so much fun to create. For this look I use one misty gray contact in one of my eyes. I then took my oozing wound whoochie and put spirit gum on the edges. I then place them on my face where i desired once the spirit gum was tacky. To make the whoochie look real, I took liquid latex and went all around the whoochie so it would blended well into my skin. Once the latex dried i then twist and pulled a little of the latex, this will create texture and make it look like the skin is peeling off. I also did this to the area of my face where i wanted it to look like the skin was rotting off. Then I took a liquid foundation that was a few shade lighter then my skin and applied this all over my face. Zombies are the living dead so to create this i added a cream color in grey and stippled this all over my face. Using a FX sponge i took green, yellow, and a brownish red cream color and added it around my face, being careful not to blend the colors to much because this will make the foundation look muddy. The next step i did was set my whole face with translucent powder. To make the wounds look more realistic i added a bruise color on the whoochie's and then added blood gel + FX blood all over the wound. Now i took the same bruise color and went around my eyes to make it look like i had deep bags. Then taking a black eyeshadow i went over the bruise color and just added more depth to make the eyes look really sunken in. For the finishing touch, i teased my hair all over to create hair that
looked really messy.
For the next look i wanted to do a she devil but as i was applying the horns and thought about the makeup, it just some how look more like a demoness then a she devil. This look out of the 3 is my favorite. I am really thinking about doing this look for Halloween. I love how the makeup looked in this look and i know when i go to a Halloween party no one would have the same look as me. The first this i needed was a set of White Out contacts. I just knew that this would make the look ten times better. After the contacts where on, I took some scar wax and made some horns for my forehead and cheeks. I look liquid latex to adhere the horns on the my face. Once the horns were on i took more liquid latex and cover the horns, i found that the wax was really sticky and the latex helped it be more touchable. After the latex dried i covered my whole face with a pale foundation and also set it with a translucent powder. Next i took my Make Up For Ever flash pallet in red and black and went all over my lids and up toward my hair line. I then took black eyeliner and went around the eyes. Then taking the black from my flash pallet again, i created some strong brows. Once i got the shape i wanted i set it with black eyeshadow. To make the eyes pop even more, i added a little red glitter to the eye lids and also added full false lashes. Now to contour my face i use the same red and black from the MUF flash pallet and stippled that on the hollows of my cheeks. Taking a red lip liner, i lined my lips and filled them in. Then i took my favorite red lipstick and gloss and added to the lips. I found that the lips weren't dark enough for the look so i lined the lips with black liner. For the finishing touches, I added the bruise cream color from before and out in around the horns so it look more like it was coming out of the skin instead of just sticking out of it. I also added a black wig i had laying around the garage and a cape from a old vampire costumes i had.
All three looks.
Hope this inspires some of you to create your own looks with things you already have or just spend a little less for Halloween. Be creative and just have fun with it.

Maybelline master drama eyeliner review
When I heard that there was an eyeliner as good as the brand name liners available at the drug store, I knew i had to see for myself. I went out to CVS and found the Maybelline master drama eyeliner. It comes in 6 different colors. I was intrigued by the other colors like the Vibrant Violet and the sapphire strength but i tend to always use black, so I bought the black which is called Midnight master.
This eyeliner needs no sharpener, simply twist and apply.
The first thing i did was compare it to my current favorite black eyeliner, the Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Zero. On my had i swatched both of them side by side to see if there was a color difference. The master drama was a little lighter and had a little but of a gray tone. I found it to be more of a charcoal black then a true black. The next thing i wanted to test was if it would smudge. It didn't smudge as my much as the UD eyeliner but this good be a good thing. I guess it all depends on what look you want to go for. If you want to create a nice smoky eye then i wouldn't use this eyeliner, this would be used for more of a precise application. (master drama is on the left and UD zero on right)
Now for the true test, i applied it to my waterline and wore it out for the day. It went on very smooth and had zero drag. It feels like a kohl but is very creamy . I found that at the end of the day, the liner was still pretty in tacked, it didn't move or smudge like i thought it would. i do have to say i did have to reapply more then i would with my UD eyeliner. The intenseity of the master drama liner fades a little more then i would like. But over all, I am really impressed by this drug store liner. For the price you can just throw it in your bag for touch ups and not worry about loosing it. I would defiantly buy this liner again and going to try the other colors in the collection.

Real Techniques Brushes By Samantha Chapman
When I heard Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo came out with her own line of brushes, I knew I had to get my hands on them and try them out for myself. . I purchased the starter set, core collection, powder brush and also the stippling brush from Ulta.com. Once I received my package, I didn't waste anytime to find out if they were any good. I have to admit sometimes i do get sucked in to all the hype behind products but i have to say this was not one of them. I was very impressed with most of the brushes. My first impression was that the brushes were very sturdy with their aluminum handle which was very light and easy to use. Also, the synthetic taklon bristles were very soft but yet full. I knew right away that my money was well spent.
The starter kit included Base shadow brush, Deluxe crease brush, Accent brush, Pixel-point eyeliner brush, and Brow brush. Before even trying this set out I knew that i could of done without this set. With all the eye brushes i have i just felt like it wasn't something that i haven't seen or purchased before. But for the price its perfect for someone who is starting to build there own brush collection.
The core collection included Detailer brush, Pointed foundation brush, Buffing brush, and Contour brush. I knew right away that contour and buffing brush would replace the brushes i was previously using. The contour brush blends well and gives you precise application. And for the buffing brush i actually use it for applying my blush. The flat top but soft fibers on the brush gives me an ideal application of my blushes. Having the brush be flat on top helps pack on the color and then the soft fibers help blend the color out. This set would be a great addition to any makeup geek's arsenal.
I also really loved the Powder and the stippling brush. The powder brush is very full with soft bristles. Ideal for apply powder to set your foundation. The stippling brush is great to buff your foundation out. It helps give you a flawless look. They are the best inexpensive brand of brushes I've ever used.
Over all, If you are an everyday makeup user, get your hands on these brushes. They cost less, they clean beautifully, and they do just as good a job as the name brand brushes.
My favs as you can tell. I've used them non stop since i got them. (Left to Right) Powder brush, Contour brush, and Stippling brush.

About Michell
My name is Michell Lauder and I'm a makeup geek and proud of it!
I have always been fascinated with the art of makeup even as a young girl. It wasn't until I was in high school that I became interested in makeup and began experimenting with eyeliners and mascara. I was given the opportunity to attend a career center that offered a class for cosmetology. Since this class filled up quickly, I was offered an alternative to join culinary arts instead.
While focusing my attention on wedding cakes I happened to meet a bride who loved how I applied my makeup. She asked if I would be willing to be her makeup artist for her big day. I was flattered by this and this is where my addiction began.
Whenever I had free time I would read and watch YouTube videos of the current makeup trends and new product reviews. I started to experiment with colors and identify which products worked best for different skin types. I started receiving multiple referrals from brides I previously worked on and found that I enjoyed what I was doing. I therefore decided that I wanted to obtain some professional training.
In February 2011, I went to Los Angels to study media makeup at Award Studios. There we learned the theory of makeup and how to apply it for photo shoots,T.V; weddings, fashion, airbrushing and special FX makeup. This class opened my eyes to all the possibilities of makeup and I can't wait to see where this newly found passion will take me.
